The ex was 27 years ago, the forward of address is 2 years later! 3. the last 4 of social is right. 4. they say someone paid over 75% of the bill. 5. they say I owe $259! I didn't get the magazines, I am pretty sure I would remember this. this is 25 years ago- they said that they are "serving" me.

this person has been calling and harassing with all kinds of b.s. for at least 10 years.

Claims to be a 15 year old debt for magazines never received said we owe well over $1000.00 plus fees but they would settle now and not file charges. looked up family and friends numbers-- claims to be a dectective or from the legal dept of 2430...tries to sound all legal but vague when asked any questions. Do not give any information they will use against you, will try to get you to answer questions yes.

it is a debt scam. Usually goes by Mark K or Alan T

Please I need assistance. I am filing a class action law suit against this company.

They CANNOT make claims against people who did not have anything to do with this company or that have not received anything from them. I am NOT going to let this company get away with this. They keep harassing me and I have severe PTSD. This situation has set me back so far in my progress.

I will NOT allow it to happen to others. PLEASE HELP.

Be glad to help. These people are scam artists and just straight evil.

They are harassing my father. He can not handle these kinds of allegations especially when no one even purchased these magazines!

So wrong. They need to be dealt with!!

Office manager

The tire store I work for is on the do not call list. They called two days in row the first day I told them that we would not be interested and not to call back the next day they called again. I just hung on them. The person that call then called back and called me a *** ***. I work at Western tire in McCook, Ne. I get at least 10 teleamarketer calls a day. When I tell them not to call back I expect not to be called back and I expect not to be called back.

Tired of paying

I was contacted at work about these magazines. Needless to say the offer that they told me about on the phone ended up being a 5 year subscription. I am also unpleased that when I want to change the magazines that I am receiving, I have to pay $3 per magazine that I want to change. (And the choices are not great). I am tired of paying for these magazines. I have been paying for them for 2 1/2 years and I am tired of it. My balance does not seem to go away. I want this company stopped before they do this to anyone else.

I believed the caller when she called me at work. She kept saying the magazines were free. She never said I could not cancel, but they asked that I not cancel. I asked her what the charges were for, she was very vague.I didn't do the math until I got my payment book and my first magazine"Lady's Home Journal". There was a subscribtion in it-2 years for $12.95. The next day I called to cancel. She said fine .I told her I had received my first mag., then she got nasty and said I could not cancel. All I want to know Allied is how can you claim that these magazines are free?

Allied Publishers are unethical

I was also suckered into a 'free magazines for 2 years' from this joke of a company. After I got double the amount of bills that they said I woud get, I had no choice but to pay it off. I paid off my balance and TWICE, years later, they have tried to send me a bill for a 'remainder' of what I owed. It was incorrect as I had proof that I paid in full. After I told them I paid in full and threatened to get my attorney involved, they said they had made a mistake and accidentally sent a bill to me. So another year and a half later, I received the same thing claiming I still owed them. I once again had th threated to get my attorney involved and they said it was their mistake again. Both times I asked for something in writing from them, they siad they wouldl send it, and nothing came. I am also submitting a complaint to the BBB. Who knows how much money these people have gotten out of people who don't know better or who are esily intimidated. Stay away from Allied Publishers! They are crooks and liars and try to get more money from you. They definitely belong in the hall of shame for sure!

"trial offer" does not exist

Pissed aint the word for it. I told them I didnt want it to start with, and they gave me a "trial offer", and said I could cancel after 14 days if I wanted to. Now I read that you can only cancel within the first 14 days, so what the ***? I told them dont even send anything, and they sent it anyways. I sent a letter telling them I didn't want it, never heard anything from them except a phone call telling me my payment was late. they have called my job numerous times, to the point where my boss has told me it is interfering with my job, and that I am spending too much time on the phone. if anybody knows how to get out of this situation with these people, let me know.

Magazine Subscriptions

This company takes advantage of people. My mom has glaucoma and is legally blind, cannot read magazines at all, cannot even drive. They keep harrassing her and will not cancel her subscription. My mom does not even have a checking account anymore, as she lost her job due to blindness. She has filed for disability, but will not find out if she is approved until August or September. These people have no conscience! Do not do business with them. Do not be suckered into their scheme. I spoke with Scott, a servie rep, and then with Tina, the supervisor. They were very unprofessional, especially the way they answered the phone. It was like they were all in the same room, hanging out.

These company is a bunch of rat bastards. The scam you into buying subscriptions, tell you they pay full subscription up front and you pay them back!

***! I tried to cancel a dozen times and wouldn't let me.

3 years later I get a phone call from lawyer that they are suing me for $1000 for unpaid balance! Businesses like these need to burn to the ground!

In 2005 I basically got suckered in, at work, to sign up for a magazine service that was supposedly suppose to be "free" magazines for 2 years. Instead what I got was 3 years of headaches! You were supposed to pay $20 per month for the "shipping" of the magazines, which half of them didn't even come. Well I defaulted on my payments, and instead of cutting off the magazines, they put my account in collections. Which the collection company harassed me CONSTANTLY at work with abusive phone calls threatening to sue me for the balence. What a nightmare!!! I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau! What started as a year of "free" magazines ended up to be a $600 bill! No magazines that I know of cost anywhere near that at any store you go to!!

Help I just got suckered in, I haven't paid a single cent to them. How do I get this canceled before this makes a huge mess. Any number, e-mail and information would be great!

Guest

I have had the same problem. They are continuously harassing me at work.

My co-worker got tired of talking to them today and she hung up, the women called back I picked up the phone and said she didn't know who hung up on her and she wanted the supervisor. I told her the supervisor would not be in til next week and she got nasty and said what you work with out a supervisor. Technically when the doctors wife isn't in the office I am the supervisor. She said she was going to send papers to the supervisor to have my wages garnished.

I called my attorney he said not to pay them a dime and if they tried to garnish my wages it is illegal with out a legal determination from the court systems, which would then require going to court which I would have to be notified for.

He also said they are not allowed to harass you at work. I told these people I wanted to cancel and they also told me I could, that all the magazines were paid for and I owe $800 well guess what they can do what they want but they are not getting $800!

Guest

lol i cant believe all of you fell for this horse caca! i worked for allied and even being an employee there i can see it was a scam.

not everyone of my questions were answered its a big joke and none of it makes sense. oh and ur really not going into "collections" its the same 9 *** people calling u just changing their names and playing with ya like ya are puppets.

it was all hillarious 2me but i couldnt take it for much longer so i left. lol long live allied hustlers :grin

I just received a phone call from Ryan Williams who works on behalf on Allied publishers. I did verify that though.

I owe 642.42 he willing to settle for 321.00 I want lower though. This guy is pretty nice so far. The magazines a Scam for sure.

I used to get magazines but not for at least 2 yrs. hopefully more peole will research this publishing company and see these posts and learn from our mistakes.

Guest

i too was contact at work and fell for the idea of 6 magazines for only $26 a month. i have been getting the magazines that were ordered, but now i am realizing that i could pay less and get the same magazines.

i tried to call and cancel my order and was told that i could not cancel because they have already notified the magazines. i explained that this would be a financial hardship for me but she said there was nothing she could do. i do not want this to go to collections but i really cannot keep paying. i live in the state of california so i do not know if there are any laws to protect me.

if anyone has any advice for me i would greatly appreciate it. in the future i know to just say no!

Guest

I am now dealing with these people now I have had the harassing phone calls at work and home. I cancelled this within the 14 days and it was 5 yrs ago so who keeps records that long.

I was laid off from my job shortly after this and was gone for approxiately 5 yrs and then returned to work here this year. That is when the phone calls started. Apparently Michigan has a law that doesn't allow them to go after you after 6 yrs. I never heard from this people for 5 yrs and now they are acting like I owe money to a loan shark.

I never recieved any magazines. I contacted a lawyer and they said to make them prove that I didn't cancel and that I did recieve the magazines. He also said I could report them to the Better Business Bureau. I think I will do that.

The man who talk to me yesterday, was so bad I thought if he would have been in the room with me he would of broke my legs and arms. I said good-bye and hung up at one point and he called back telling me that he would be the one to decide when the conversation was over. A word of warning to any even thinking about dealing with Allied Publishers DON'T they may be o.k.

but the people they hire are unscrupulous people I have ever had the displeasure of talking to. :(

Guest

I have had the same problems as everyone above and have lately been receiving phone calls from Steve Phillips at "Legal Services" about a suit being filed against me. Just recently I have contacted each individual magazine company that Allied Publishers signed me up for and cancelled my subscriptions directly through them.

I am now sending all of the cancellation confirmations to Allied Publishers. I am not sure if this will get me anywhere but its the most progress I have made so far.

Guest

I'm dealing with them right now, i just ignore their phone calls, let them take me to collections and everything, I never agreed to pay $700+ dollars, if I wanted to pay that much for magazines I would of just bought them at the store or from the publisher themselves. This is a joke, they no longer call me at work but they have sent letters to my employer asking if i still work there. This is ridiculous.

Guest

These people are crooks pure and simple. I quit paying after I lost my job and the realized I had paid enough to subscribe to every magazine on earth for the three I didn't want.

I feel like a sucker too but they can kiss off.

I was just threatened by their "collections goon" apparently they are coming for me! lol good luck stay as far away from these people as you can...maybe some letters to the magazines themselves would help

Allied Publishing/Beware

Wow.... What can I say. My husband received a call @ his work from a telemarketer with Allied Publishing. He came home talking about all of these free magazines that he would be getting. He said that they would be sending an extensive list from him to choose from. A magazine came that was of no interest. Then another..no interest. I called the company and told them that the magazines were not for us.I asked them to cancel. She said that she would mail us a list to choose from. It came. There were not five magazines that we wanted. Called them back once again told them to cancel. They said that I would have to call back and speak to a specific person. I did. They refused to talk with me and said that they had to talk to my husband. I put him on the phone. No help. They told him that it could not be cancelled. I am pissed. I told them that it would not be paid and to stop the magazines. They then said that they had my husband on recording agreeing to this. ( he was working at the time) UGHHHHHH. There is nothing free and that is deception in advertising! And who ever heard of not being able to cancel magazine subscriptions. Get Real! You can cancel with the magazine companies themselves. Something needs to be done about this kind marketing deception. BUYER BEWARE>>>>You are signing on for an outrageously tight noose on the neck. I really want to hear the recording.... I find it ironic that when ever you need the recording in your defense.... it can't be produced....They said that they have this one.....I would bet that it doesn't have the part about all of the free magazines that you would be receiving.....Sure would like to hear it. The manager was upset with me because I was yelling @ him......Now he doesn't want to play it for me because I would just hollar at him some more.....Hmmm....DON"T DO IT>>>>JUST SAY NO !!!!

I can't believe I fell for this BS! I got a call at work with all the other ladies in the office, and they just sign you up just like that!

What a scam. Why is it that there is no phone number or any kind of contact info? They keep calling and before you can say anything they hang up on you. They also have called because they say they have a free gift for you and want to send it to you, yeah right!!

BUYER BEWARE!

Never consider anything in life FREE, and if its too god to be true, it probably isnt! :(

Guest

I am a victim of this place as well..I am currently paying $26 a month for these magazines.I ALSO GOT A CALL "OFFERING" me even more magazines for another $11 a month! IS there a way to get rid of them??

I kind of like the magazines, but if I can't getout of it after the two year minimum, and there si NO 3 years free (dumb me!!) I want out..If I cancel with the magazine company itself, am I still liable to Allied? :cry

Guest

I got ripped by this company as well. All I had to pay for was "shipping" which ends up costing me $26 per month.

My problem is, she came to my job and I signed a contract. 3 YEARS!!!!!! Free magazine????

Yeah right!!!! I had dumba@@ written on my forhead that day!!!

Guest

I got a call too, hung up on me, super rude. THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!

Guest

You wouldn't happen to have the phone number for this company would you? I've recieved many calls at work and they hang up before I can say anything about being taken off a do not call list.
